PJ Ryan

Phillip James otherwise known asPJ Ryan is a native New Yorker, hailing from Brownsville Brooklyn & a brother of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. He is a full-time actor, educator, writer, tv/film & podcast producer and all around creative spirit. He spreads the message of love, positivity and encouragement to those he comes in contact with.

PJ’s mission was birthed out of overcoming depression and understand the true power of taking a leap of faith. For him, living in your truth is to understand your triggers and being able to live freely without fear and/or shame. It has been his experience that when you take a leap of faith and believe in yourself, all of your dreams really can come true.

He is also the producer and one of the cohost of the award winning "Highly Melanated Podcast", cohosted w/ Blair Tate & Red. That space is always safe & fun space to discuss real topics effecting black and brown people to melanate our palates while feeding our souls.

Currently PJ is one also recipient of the Gay City News Impact Award for the work he does within the community in regards to mental health awareness, suicide prevention & HIV/AIDS awareness. Through this podcast, “The Dear You Project” centered around vulnerability and sharing our stories to help encourage others to let them know they aren’t alone through a “Dear You” letter. He has made it clear that his purpose is to be in of service to the Melanated community of which he loves.
